Description
Nursing Orientation Also known as the Staff Development and Education Department, we are responsible for the education of hospital Associates. We offer nursing orientation two times each month, which is a comprehensive 3-day orientation for all nurses new to Kern Medical Center. New Graduate Nurse Orientation New Graduate Nurse Orientation is offered two times each year. This week long orientation consists of all the components of nursing orientation in addition to job shadowing, new nurse perceptions, stress management, test taking strategies and prep for the boards. American Heart Association Classes We are an American Heart Association Training Center and offer on-going education for: Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers This 6 hour course is offered once a month. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification and Re-Certification classes are offered numerous times throughout the year. Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification and Re-Certification classes are offered numerous times throughout the year. Neonatal Advanced Life Support This American Academy of Pediatrics course is offered 3 times each year. Other Information The Center for Learning and Development also provides classes in basic leadership for charge nurses, and preceptor workshops for nurses who are interested in serving as nurse preceptors.
