Amir Berjis MD FACS FCCP
Dr. Amir Berjis is a board-certified specialist in thoracic surgery with fellowship training in minimally-invasive thoracic surgery and thoracic oncology.
Dr. Berjis received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles. He then completed his medical training at Saint Louis Univeristy School of Medicine in Missouri.
He embarked on his general surgery training at Kern Medical Center. Dr. Berjis then received further training in cardiothoraic surgery, completing this second residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed further fellowship training in thoracic surgery, with emphasis on oncology and minimally-invasive techniques at UCLA before returning to Bakersfield in 2007 to start his private practice.
Dr. Berjis was recruited back to KMC in 2012. He currently serves as Director of Thoracic Surgery and the Clerkship Director for third year medical students rotating through surgery in addition to providing services for and teaching residents in thoracic surgery.
