Division of Pediatrics

The Divisions of Pediatrics/Neonatology provides quality and continuity of care to the pediatric population of Kern County. There are six full-time pediatricians with specialties in cardiology and hematology/oncology along with one pediatrician, who provides clinical care to our children at Jamison’s Children Center. There are also two full-time neonatologists who provide quality care for our newborn patients.  Specialty clinics in the areas of Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology and Hematology/Oncology are provided by consultants from the UCLA School of Medicine on a monthly/bimonthly basis.

The pediatricians/neonatologists also actively participate in the training of residents from the Departments of Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Transitional.

In summary, the Divisions of Pediatrics/Neonatology is a solid team of caring professionals who provide outstanding care in both the inpatient and outpatient services at Kern Medical Center, as well as, being excellent teachers for residents who rotate through the Division of Pediatrics/Neonatology here at Kern Medical Center.
