The department is unique in that our Obstetrics experience is extensive with 70% of the obstetrical care being provided to high risk patients. There is 24 hour in house anesthesia available for emergency cesarean sections and epidural placement.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 28 bed unit. It is the newest in the county which is able to provide extensive services with one of the most experienced staff. There is state-of-the art equipment available. The department has four new ultrasounds available to the residents and with the assistance of the perinatologist are able to perform level 3 ultrasounds, genetic counseling, and amniocentesis.

The gynecology service takes pride in its reputation performing extensive vaginal surgery. The residents are also exposed to a vast array of urogynecologic procedures. There is block time available on a daily basis in the newly built operating room for the gynecology department. There are increasingly more laparscopic procedures being performed annually. While in the clinic, the residents have numerous procedures available for them i.e. cystometrics, office hysteroscopy, and loop excision procedures.
