Kern Medical Center Health Plan (KMCHP) is a county funded program that provides care to eligible Kern County residents. It’s a way for those people who meet certain requirements to get quality, ongoing medical care at no cost. KMCHP works with you to determine eligibility, assist with the application process and provide continuing coverage for those who qualify.

Who is Eligible?
In order to qualify for KMCHP benefits, the following eligibility requirements must be met:
Adults between the ages of 19-64
Income at or below 133% of the Federal Poverty Level
Resident of Kern County for 30 days
Not enrolled or eligible for other state health plans such as Medi-Cal or CHIP
US Citizen or a legal resident of the United States for 5 or more years

Getting started is easy! Call 661.326-2392(select option 4) today to request an application and/or speak to one of our Patient Financial Service representatives. We can answer questions, provide program materials, and assist you through the application, eligibility and determination process. We look forward to working with you to create a healthier future.
To complete your application, here’s what you need to do: 1. Complete the application form and sign it. Complete all items on the application and sign on page 3. 2. Collect your documents and submit with you application. On page 4 of the application, we have listed all applicable documents that must be submitted with your application. Please review this carefully. 3. Patient Financial Services hours of operation: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (closed from 12-1 pm daily)
