Melissa E. Larsen M.D. FAAFP FACOG

Melissa E. Larsen, M.D. graduated magna cum laude from Smith College and went on to receive her Medical Degree from Cornell University Medical College. After medical school she went on to complete two residencies; first in family practice at the Medical University of South Carolina and the second in obstetrics and gynecology at George Washington University. She is board certified in family practice and obstetrics-gynecology. She has been a clinical associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at George Washington University and University of California,San Francisco. Previously she was chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Natividad Medical Center and medical director of Ob-Gyn Associates of the Central Coast in Salinas, California. She has special clinical interests in high-risk obstetrics, and minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries.

Dr. Larsen is an advocate for women's health care and for physicians, having been active in organized medici ne throughout her career. She has served on the boards of local medical societies in Fairfax, Virginia and Monterey, California. In Monterey she served as president and treasurer as well as being a delegate to the California Medical Association.
