UCLA-Kern Psychiatry Residency Program

Psychiatry is one of the most challenging and rapidly changing disciplines in the field of
medicine.  The UCLA-Kern Psychiatry Residency Training programs provide fully
accredited training with flexibility in the pursuit of individual resident and fellow interests, with an in-depth view of both the biologic and psychodynamic aspects of human behavior.  This will be accomplished by one-on-one supervisory experiences during both the 4 year general psychiatry and the 2 year fellowship training by full time program faculty, faculty from other UCLA programs, and qualified clinicians from metro-Bakersfield area, thus enabling residents and fellows to actualize their talents.  Upon completion of residency training, residents are eligible for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
