Bakersfield, Ca. (June 4, 2014) – Kern Medical Center has partnered with the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Bakersfield program to create a new waiting room for Orthopedic patients and their families. Leadership Bakersfield’s Team Four approached Kern Medical Center and found an opportunity to improve the waiting area for an Orthopedic clinic, which sees approximately 12,000 patients each year. Both partners are looking forward to helping patients and their families wait in a comfortable, inviting space that includes new paint and murals, new flooring, comfortable seating, and children's games. Both entities participated in the renovation of this waiting room, and “the addition of the new waiting room will offer support and comfort for KMC’s Orthopedic patients and staff for years to come,” said Neil Sidhu, Leadership Bakersfield Team Four’s Leader. “We are so grateful that the Chamber’s Leadership Bakersfield program chose to support KMC and its patients. It’s been amazing how people and organizations have reached out to help our organization and the people that seek their care here,” said Russell Judd, KMC’s CEO.

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be taking place June 6, 2014 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at KMC’s Orthopedic Waiting Room located at 1700 Mt. Vernon, Bakersfield, CA 93306. KMC’s Chief Executive Officer Russell Judd, Chief Strategy Officer, KMC doctors, staff, and local elected leaders are invited to celebrate the inauguration of the beautiful new waiting room. Leadership Bakersfield’s Team Four thanks the numerous donors who made this project possible.
